Book Review: Poo at the Zoo

By Kayla Rochelle September 26, 2021

If there is one thing almost every kid finds funny, is poop, and boy does this book have lots of it! ‘Poo at the Zoo’ is a hilarious story told in rhyming prose, about a zookeeper whose sole job is to collect all of the animal poo. After an Iguana gets loose and eats everything in sight, he poops the strangest, most interesting poop anyone has ever seen and that’s when the fun begins. This book isn’t only about humor. Besides being able to repeat the word ‘poo’ over and over again ensuring laughs, this book also introduces a variety of zoo animals. The brightly illustrated pages match the tone of the story making this book one we’ll revisit for many years. Recently, I paired a copy of this book with some pretend prank poop and suddenly I had a gift every 4 - 7-year-olds will love!
