Walt Disney World is an over-the-top, amazing experience for everyone. The magic of Disney can resonate with even the littlest guests. Check out our Disney must-do bucket list for your preschooler!
1. Disney Springs boasts tons of stores your children are sure to love. Thousands of toys to buy and many rides to ride and I found my children had the best time at the free Interactive Fountain Water Spouts. Located near ‘Once Upon a Toy’ these water spouts are bound to be a huge hit with small children. It’s a free experience that will keep your little ones entertained for hours if you let them. A huge bonus to parents is that the Earl of Sandwich has ample shaded seating right next to them where you can grab a drink or sandwich and keep an eye on your little ones as they enjoy the water fun!
2. One of my children’s favorite things to do in Magic Kingdom isn’t even the actual ride but the play area before the ride. The indoor circus-themed playground in the Dumbo ride will keep your little ones entertained the entire day if you allow it. There’s something to do for children from walking age through older children. Kids can move, climb and burn off all that excess energy while parents can sit in air-conditioned, bleacher seating as they watch their children have a blast.
3. Head over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and checking out the animals in their savanna. You can (for free) see the different animals at a few different viewing areas. Time your visit right and you may catch handlers feeding the animals their dinner!
4. One of the best places to burn some energy and get wet at the same time is playing at ‘Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak’ in Magic Kingdom. Located right outside Fantasyland, this interactive water play area is a great place to allow your little ones to cool down while adults take a break on the benches provided nearby. Make sure to have a change of clothes!
5. My children get just as excited about the monorail as they do most of the attractions in the parks. There’s nothing quite as unique or thrilling to the young and old alike as taking a monorail ride. It’s always our first stop when we arrive in Disney World and our last stop before we head home at the end of our vacation.
6. Resort hop to some of Disney’s value resorts and check out their larger-than-life theming. Check out All-Star Movies which boasts a 35-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear or Art of Animation where you can see all the Little Mermaid characters and take a walk through Radiator Springs to check out the life-sized Cars characters.
7. A must-do is letting your children get…and thoroughly enjoy a Mickey ice cream bar. Make sure to bring a change of clothes and really allow your little one to eat their ice cream to their content. Be warned, it will cause a mess! But don’t hover and don’t cringe. Allow them to take a few minutes and really enjoy this delicious treat.
