Breaking Down Disney’s Deluxe Resorts

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel March 27, 2021

Are you looking for an opulent vacation at a luxurious resort? Then deluxe accommodations at Disney World are the way to go! All Disney deluxe resorts will have waterslides at their pools and faster transportation such as the monorail and boats, in comparison to value and moderate which will offer bussing. You will also find more space in your standard resort rooms, as well as one and two-bedroom villas in your deluxe resorts.

1. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in their hotel rooms with a savannah view. You can wake up every morning, walk on to your balcony and experience the animals in their “natural” African Savannah habitat. Couple this with an amazing pool and kid’s splash pad, unique restaurants and African culture galore; it’s a must-visit resort.

2. Discover the charming elegance of a New England-style resort in Disney’s Beach Club Resort. With a character dining experience in-house as well as most people’s choice for the best pool in Disney in Stormalong Bay, a 3-acre water wonderland, you may never need to leave your resort!

3. Can’t leave your family’s pup behind? Consider Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, which has dog-friendly accommodations! While your pup lives out his Disney dreams, your little ones can have the time of their lives in Stormalong Bay, as Yacht Club shares this sand bottom, a zero-entry oasis with the Beach Club Resort.

3. Experience the charm of the early 1900s in this Atlantic City-themed waterfront hotel. Step outside your hotel right on to the boardwalk at Broadwalk Inn, where you’ll be entertained by classic boardwalk games and Surrey bike rides. Being in walking distance to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios make this resort one you must consider for the ease of getting around Disney World alone.

4. Looking to escape to nature…while staying in Disney World? You’ll enjoy leaving the hustle and bustle of the parks behind when you head to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge which allows you to escape to the rustic majesty of America’s Great Northwest around 1900. With a brand new, Snow White character dining experience at their restaurant Artist Point and a 67-foot waterslide, your little ones are bound to have the time of their lives!

If you’ve commonly heard of Disney’s “Monorail Resorts,” the following three resorts are being referred to. They are all on the main monorail loop, meaning they are just a quick hop from your hotel door to that beautiful castle in the Magic Kingdom. The convenience and grandeur of staying at these resorts are unsurpassed, but you can imagine they come with a hefty price tag. Make sure to ask your travel agent to check on any Disney promotions that are available to see if you can reap any savings.

5. Step right into an oasis of tropical palms and lush greenery at this South Pacific-themed resort. Disney’s Polynesian Resort boasts character dining and an amazing zero-entry pool with a kid’s splash park. It also is one of the only resorts to invite you to its sandy beaches to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks right from your resort!

6. If you’re looking for an ultramodern resort check out Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It’s the only resort to have the monorail go right through it’s building! Your children are sure to be mesmerized by the sight. With some of the best views in Disney World and the Pixar Play Zone, an evening of fun for kids 4-12, there is surely something for everyone to do. Make sure you leave ample free time when visiting this resort as your children will want to spend lots of time just riding the monorail!

7. The most elegant and sophisticated resort at Disney World has to be Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Don’t let the immense grandeur scare you as it’s incredibly friendly for children and families!  With a world-class spa and health club for Mom, exquisite dining for Dad and a zero-entry pool and Alice in Wonderland-themed splash park for kids, there’s bound to be something for everyone at this timelessly stunning resort.
