Is Disney Early Morning Magic at Magic Kingdom Worth It??

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel July 23, 2020

Last weekend I had the opportunity to check out Magic Kingdom’s Early Morning Magic! For $79.00 per adult and $69.00 per child (not including park admission and tax), guests can enjoy exclusive access to select attractions in Fantasyland and breakfast.

Running from 7:45 am-9 am, guests who have purchased this VIP type experience will be the first few allowed into the park. Scoring that coveted “empty” picture with just your family in front of Cinderella’s Castle will most likely be guaranteed if you arrive promptly!

From there, you are directed into Fantasyland where you can ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, Princess Fairytale Hall getting the opportunity to meet either Elena and Cinderella or Rapunzel and Tiana, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, it’s a small world, Mad Tea Party and Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid to your heart’s content. With virtually no lines you will soar through each ride and attraction numerous times if you desire.

The park opens to the general public at 9 am so at this point crowds start to pick up, however, you still have the opportunity to use the given wristband to cut the lines until 10 am by entering through the Fastpass line.

Breakfast is served until 10 am at Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland and includes your basics such as scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, freshly baked pastries.  There is also a “toppings bar” that has cheese and cured meats, seasonal fruit, oatmeal, granola, yogurt, assorted juices, and coffee and teas. The food is delicious and after jumping from ride to ride you will for sure have worked up an appetite!

As a single adult experiencing the Early Morning Magic, I feel it was a good value.  You certainly feel like a Disney VIP being the first to enter an empty Magic Kingdom enjoying the rides, attractions, and ambiance before the rest of the guests show up. If you’re interested in getting pictures of a vacant park, this is certainly the experience for you!

However, for an average family of four, you are looking at almost $400 more to experience Magic Kingdom and I don’t believe it’s worth it. With the use of Fastpasses you are almost always able to secure these rides beforehand if you are staying on Disney property; ask your travel agent for help if need be! A family would be better off purchasing a second day at Magic Kingdom for not much more, thereby getting a full day’s worth of the park instead of just the two hours of selected rides and breakfast.

All in all, I would say if you plan on doing an adult’s trip consider experiencing Magic Kingdom’s Early Morning Magic but when taking this dream vacation with your family, skip it and find a better place to put that money in to!
