Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom

Your Must Do Disney Dining This Thanksgiving!

If you’re planning on spending this Thanksgiving season at Walt Disney World, you must make reservations for Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom!

As soon as you walk into this American Colonial-era tavern you are swept back to a different time. The rooms feature dark wood throughout and cast members are all dressed in Colonial style clothing. You’ll find period portraits lining the walls and large brick fireplaces as you would have found in the 18th century, it really brings the 1700’s to life! Coming from the craziness of Magic Kingdom just a few feet away it’s truly like entering a bygone era.

When the hostess calls your name as your table is ready, she will do it “town crier” style and lead you to one of their beautiful dining rooms that each represent one of the pivotal figures in the United States history, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, and George Washington.

While the ambiance and theming of this restaurant are spot-on for the Thanksgiving season, it’s the meal that is really the showstopper. For dinner, you will find their famous “Patriots’ Platter” which is an all you care to enjoy meal served family-style at your table. Your mouth will water as your server brings this enormous platter filled with all your traditional Thanksgiving favorites! You will feast on turkey, pot roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes and vegetables; as well as a large salad to share at your table.

Make sure you save room for, in my opinion, the most delicious dessert in all of Magic Kingdom- the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake! Picture a warm, chewy chocolate chip cookie fresh-baked from the oven that they top with a heaping spoonful of vanilla bean ice cream. If you’d rather your little ones not be covered in ooey-gooey cookie, my kids always opt for the ice cream that comes topped with patriotic sprinkles that they can sprinkle on themselves.  They enjoy putting it together while I dive into my own dessert!!

Enjoy learning a little Colonial United States history as you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal this year at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom!
