Walt Disney World’s Pop Century Resort Review

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel March 27, 2021

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is easily one of the most popular value resorts in Walt Disney World. With a fun, decade-themed vibe, any member of your family will surely feel nostalgic! Besides the incredible value, your family will find, in booking this reasonably priced destination, all of the resort’s rooms have recently been renovated giving them a fresh, updated feel. With rooms inexpensively priced on average from $80 to $200, I believe that you’ll find the small premium over off Disney property resorts will be more than made up for by the extras that Disney gives their onsite guests, as well as the convenience of being on Disney’s property.

As the theme of Pop Century is pop culture from the 1950s-1990s, each exterior section of the buildings is themed to a particular decade. Make sure you take time to walk around and sightsee at the resort, you’ll find lots of larger-than-life pieces that make for great photo ops!

The brand new resort rooms that have recently been renovated with vibrant colors will fit four members of your family and while I consider them to be a bit tight for families with older children, families that have preschool-age little ones won’t feel it’s cramped.

Pop Century boasts three pools that while basic, will certainly have your little ones enjoying themselves! With many resort activities offered such as “movies under the stars,” poolside challenges, Disney trivia, and arts and crafts, all ages will find an activity to entertain themselves should you need a resort day to recoup from the parks. And there’s a pool bar, Petals, for adults who would like to enjoy a cocktail poolside while their children enjoy themselves.

Everything Pop! cafeteria is the resort’s quick-service dining option. Make sure you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded to your phone so you can take advantage of the Mobile Ordering at this food court. It makes ordering and picking your meals a breeze, especially with children. If you’re looking for a bit of change of scenery for a meal while staying at Pop Century, it’s only about a ten-minute walk to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where you can try their quick service dining option, Landscape of Flavors. It can be fun to take the walk and try something new during your stay!

All Disney property guests have access to free shuttles to the parks but one of the biggest highlights of staying at Pop Century Resort is the newest mode of transportation in Walt Disney World, Disney’s Skyliner! Pop Century guests can use this to travel to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot which makes this a huge benefit for the ease of traveling to the parks at a value price with this resort!

Couple all the recent upgrades at Disney’s Pop Century with a very reasonable price tag, you won’t be disappointed with your next resort stay there!
