Lines You Want To Wait In At Disney World…and Lines You Don’t

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel January 7, 2020

There’s no doubt your best bet to utilize your time and all the money spent while on your Walt Disney World vacation is to take advantage of their Fastpass system. (Always keep in mind Fastasses can be made sixty days in advance as an on-site Disney resort guest or 30 days in advance with a theme park ticket.)

However, depending on the time of year you visit you may be able to take advantage of some rides if they have minimal wait. In some rides, you’ll find the queue to be as much fun as the ride…well, almost! On the other side, there are some rides that will bore you tears having to wait in. Here’s a list of the rides to take advantage of a short queue line and rides to not bother.

Lines With Fun Queues

1. Journey of the Little Mermaid in Magic Kingdom: Underwater world with interactive holograms in the fish tank windows. TIP- Make sure to wave to the crabs you see!

2. Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom: You’ll find cool Himalayan artifacts, Yeti footprints and lots of hidden Mickey’s.

3. Toy Story Mania in Hollywood Studios: Giant crayons, board game ceilings and Mr. Potato bring the beloved Toy Story movies to life.

4. Test Track in EPCOT: You’ll get to see innovative, prototype cars of the future and then get to create your own!

Rides to Make Sure you Have a Fastpass For

1. Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom: Zig zag line with no interesting features that seem to take forever.

2. Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom: The line is more like a migration where everyone seems to surge together for most of it. To avoid feeling crowded, make sure you grab a Fastpass.

3. Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios: While it does have a spooky vibe to it, the queue is much like that of a regular hotel. I would for sure skip this one, especially with children who will be bored the entire wait.

4. Soarin’ in EPCOT: I would give my opinion that this may be the worst line in all of Walt Disney World. It’s long with no interesting features whatsoever making the wait feel even longer than it really is.
