Can We Just Be?!

By Sweta Shah Sakhpara, Founder, PranaWorks March 9, 2021

From the time we wake up until we go back to sleep... why are our days so full?

Since when did our mornings and really our days become this blur of a sequence of to-dos?

Didn’t we once say that we will slow down.. did we try, did it work?

Obviously, not everyone can wake up early enough to have a whole thirty minutes to sit by themselves with a cup of tea/coffee by the window or in their balcony... there are breakfasts to be made, lunches to be packed, people have to get ready to go to work if you are able to, or get logged in - if not. Where is the time?!

But, and answer this honestly, are you happy? If you even paused to think before answering this.. is it even worth doing? Yes, it may be paying the bills and that’s super important. But what about YOU?

We have full control of our schedules. There are a few things that can’t be changed - school/work (and that includes all house chores too); these have to be on schedule but the rest of the time, if we wanted to, we could choose to slow down, right?

This time, think real hard about what you loved doing before you stepped on the hamster wheel and make time for it again. It is possible. You just have to choose to do it for yourself and not feel guilty about it.

For me, it was writing, this very thing. I had always loved writing - prose or poetry and somehow I left it behind, didn’t choose so many opportunities that came by until this one. And now, I write again. It takes, maybe, fifteen minutes of my time but it’s mine, by choice.

My wish for you all is that you get a chance to reintroduce yourselves to something you used to love. And choose to do it this time around
