Disney’s Pop Century Resort Review 2021

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel May 3, 2021

Disney’s Pop Century Resort spans 20th-century pop cultures and showcases the way people lived, interacted and played. It is very similar to the All-Star Resorts in that the resort is teeming with oversized theming elements.

Staying on Disney property opens up three levels of resorts for a guest to choose from, known as value, moderate and deluxe resorts. Disney’s Pop Century Resort is considered a value resort. Because of this, you will certainly find staying here during your next visit to be very reasonably priced.

The resort rooms have a maximum capacity of four guests per room, and a child under three can stay in a crib (for a total of five guests in a room). There is no charge for children under 17-years-old when in the same room as their adults, but if you have more than two adults in your room, there is a $10 per night charge per extra adult. At 260 square feet, the rooms are on the smaller side for a Disney resort room but the innovative use of space in a table that turns into a second bed really does make this room feel more spacious.

  • Standard Room range from $154 – $300
  • Preferred Room range from $171 – $320
  • Standard Pool View Room range from $161 – $310
  • Preferred Pool View Room range from $182 – $330

You will also pay a $15 fee per night of your stay should you use their overnight self-parking.

Classic Hall features a check-in lobby showcasing fantastic pieces of memorabilia from days passed- throughout the 1950s to 1990s, the decades showcased throughout the resort. Make sure you take the time to slow down and enjoy all of the pieces of history.  A very cool experience!

The Everything POP Quick Service food court offers stations with various dining options and grab-and-go eats and drinks in a cooler section. Make sure you are familiar with “mobile ordering” on your My Disney Experience app as you will use this feature for this restaurant and almost all quick-service locations at Walt Disney World right now.

Everything POP features the Resort’s gift shop at its entrance - bright, beautiful and filled with Disney goodies! There is also an arcade (Fast Forward) and an exterior waiting area for bus service to and from the attractions.

There are three pools and one playground. Bowling Pin Pool is near the 1950s buildings, the Hippy Dippy Pool near the 1960s buildings and a Computer pool near the 1980s and 1990s buildings. The playground is shaded with benches for caregivers to sit and watch their little ones have a good time while they relax. And make sure to get a recreation calendar when you check-in so you can find out what nights your favorite Disney classics are playing at their “Movies under the stars” program.

The Resort is built on the shores of Hourglass Lake and features a bridge, originally called Generation Gap Bridge, that connects Pop Century with the Art of Animation Resort. This bridge houses the Skyliner gondola system. Fitting up to 10 guests comfortably, the Skyliner connects these two Disney resorts to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, EPCOT and Disney’s Boardwalk, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s an awesome perk of staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!
