With the change this year to your Walt Disney World vacation packages, where MagicBands are no longer offered free with your reservation, many guests are left wondering just exactly what they should use now. There are three great options for you!
1. MagicBands
While MagicBands are no longer being offered free with your vacation package, they are still available to use. Both your standard and specialty bands can be purchased through your MyDisneyExperience account or at ShopDisney.com.
Do you have an old band from a past vacation? You may still be able to use it! Once you are in to your MyDisneyExperience account, click on “My Disney Experience” at the top right of the screen; in the drop down you will find ”My MagicBands and Cards.” If you scroll down, you will see a list of all MagicBands or Key to the World Cards you may have; you can make them active or inactive from this screen. I do always suggest that if you are using an old MagicBand to please make sure to confirm with the front desk of your resort that it is linked properly.
As of now, Disney considers MagicBands the best way to experience Walt Disney World Resort. Here is everything you can use your MagicBand for:
- Entering Theme Parks and Water Parks
- Redeeming virtual queue boarding groups
- Linking photos from roaming Disney PhotoPass® photographers
- Linking attraction photos automatically
- Boarding Disney’s Magical Express® service (2021 arrivals)
- Accessing Disney Resort hotel rooms and amenities
- Charging to a Disney Resort hotel room folio
2. MagicMobile
As technology and the needs of their guests constantly evolve, Disney has always been known to innovate. Now, guests are able to experience their visit to Walt Disney World® Resort with a new option: Disney MagicMobile.
Disney MagicMobile is a digital pass that Guests can create using the My Disney Experience app, which then is added to their smart device’s digital wallet. To use a MagicMobile Pass, guests simply hold their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone near an access point, just like they would with a MagicBand.
Guests can use a MagicMobile Pass when :
- Entering Theme Parks and Water Parks
- Redeeming virtual queue boarding groups
- Linking photos from roaming Disney PhotoPass® photographers
- Boarding Disney’s Magical Express® service (2021 arrivals only)
- Charging to a Disney Resort hotel room folio (coming soon)
3. Key To The World
Guests also have the option to use the plastic card, or Key to the World card, they can be given at their Disney resort check in for free if they would like.Here is everything you can use your Key To The World for:
- Entering Theme Parks and Water Parks
- Redeeming virtual queue boarding groups
- Linking photos from roaming Disney PhotoPass® photographers
- Accessing Disney Resort hotel rooms and amenities
- Boarding Disney’s Magical Express® service (2021 arrivals only)
- Charging to a Disney Resort hotel room folio
With these three great options, there’s bound to be one perfect for your next dream vacation! Also keep in mind, although a MagicMobile Pass may act much like a MagicBand, guests can choose to use their MagicMobile Pass or a MagicBand, whichever option works best during your visit. You can even use all options and alternate between them for added flexibility!
