Remember last time we spoke about boundaries? Well, those who do actively set boundaries also sometimes face unnecessary comments - Judgements on their boundaries.
As parents, we all have faced judgments from almost every corner. I am sure you’ll all nod with me when I show you some examples of judgmental commenting -
“Oh, she decided to have a planned c-section? Wow, that’s very convenient!”
“Going with formula? Breast is best, your baby will never bond with you if you don’t breastfeed!”
“What! Did they decide to co-sleep? That baby will never learn to be independent!”
… and so on… all the way until we die.. through our time as parents, even after we will have an empty nest. If you’ve lived a particularly self-sufficient life, these comments may continue even after you have left this earth!
The question here is, just as we are being judged, aren’t we judging too?
Here is an exercise for you, try to make a note of how many times a day, you judge - in thoughts or aloud - you will be surprised.
And then, try to make a resolution (yep, any day is as good as the New Year’s Day for this) - to bring that score down to zero.
It is then, for you to truly become a kind, carefree soul. Kind because you no longer judge and carefree because you no longer care if you are being judged!
