Look around you. Observe. How many people are “manifesting” positivity into their lives?
In a pool of 10 people, you will probably find 60-70% practicing this. So many people are “healing” themselves or “clearing past life blockages”? What is all this? Why are so many people suddenly awakened in this aspect of life?
As an Energy Therapist, supporting healing and clearing chakra blockages is what I do—so I understand what these individuals are seeking to achieve. But the way they are going about staying positive at all times is getting toxic, in my opinion.
Yes, affirmations are good to start your day with. Yes, having a plan for the day, week, month, year, and overall life is great too.
But to not acknowledge emotions like fear, anxiety, unhappiness, sadness, etc is NOT good.
What’s the point of saying “I am surrounded by love every day in everything” when your lived reality feels so far from that? When you’re low or no contact with your parents, arguing daily with your spouse, kids, or siblings, and you’ve lost a friend because pride got in the way, is there any truth left in that affirmation? The inability to face the reality for what it is is getting too much. What is it that’s stopping you from just sitting with an emotion and actually feeling it?
In a conversation, I was countered with, “… but you have to raise your vibrations.. to get to a higher frequency.. You have to be happy.. if you aren’t right now, you manifest happiness by saying it.. you have to keep a smile on your face at all times!!”
That whole premise is SO NOT TRUE. I, for one, would find it exhausting to constantly show a happy, smiling face even as I navigate a myriad of situations and the feelings those situations bring about, which may not be happy after all!
You raise your vibrations by feeling your emotions and then letting them go. By not holding onto grudges, you rise above. By acting like you are happy when you are not, you’ll get lost.
Let’s stop this movement of acting like it’s already happened because “it has happened in another realm.. you just need to manifest it” - please? Let’s allow ourselves to feel sad or mad or bad? Let’s not subscribe to this toxic positivity mentality, please!?
🙏
