Join LEAP (Leadership through an Expanded Arts Program) for a performance of The Movement, an evocative Off-Broadway production commemorating the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This poignant a cappella musical, penned by acclaimed African-American playwright Kathy D. Harrison, brings to life the 1963 Children’s Crusade, a pivotal event in the Civil Rights Movement.
Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in a family-oriented experience that transcends mere performance. Through the talents of LEAP Artists LIVE! and the Young Artivists Musical Theater Ensemble, The Movement not only honors Dr. King’s legacy but also fosters an environment for family engagement and education in the arts. Performances on the 15th feature pre-show Master Teaching Artists Workshops at 11:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
