There aren’t many resorts or hotels I have stayed at the provoke the kind of awe-inspiring feel that walking in to lobby of Disney’s Wilderness Resort gives. This rustic feel resort pays homage to the beauty of America’s great northwest in its feel of being a turn-of-the-century National Park lodge.
As you walk into the lobby, you are greeted by huge totem poles, an amazing fireplace and historical artifacts like Native American headdresses. Make sure you head to the back to see the “river” that flows through the resort and take a walk over its bridge. It’s a great picture spot!
With two pools, Copper Creek Springs Pool and Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, there’s plenty of water activities to keep the young and the young at heart entertained. Disney recently added a children’s water play area in the main pool allowing your younger children the opportunity to engage with many different water features. And nearby, you’ll find Geyser Point Bar and Grill which offers refreshments and snacks to eat poolside or a covered patio table.
Besides this grill, you’ll find a myriad of other dining choices including Roaring Fork and Geyser Point Bar and Grill, your quick service restaurants; and Whispering Canyon Café, your table service restaurants. This resort also boasts one of our families’ favorite newer restaurants, Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. Utilizing one table service credit, this character dining experience is not to be missed. You can read my review of this fantastic restaurant here! If you’re in the mood for an alcoholic beverage make sure to check out Territory Lounge, which houses craft brews and local wines as well as artisanal appetizers and your specialty coffees.
Planning on spending a day at your resort? You’ll find so many activities to do! You can rent a motorized boat or reel in some fun while fishing. There is the Buttons and Bells Arcade as well as campfire activities in the evening. Make sure to pick up a schedule of available activities and fun to partake in during your stay.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is also great for all family sizes. Their standard resort rooms offering standard views, nature views, and courtyard views will sleep up to four guests. There is even a nature fireworks view. Watching those fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle with nature below is an amazing experience to be had! You will also find the option to accommodate larger families in their Copper Creek canyon and Boulder Ridge villas which have studios and one-bedroom villas, both of which sleep up to four guests, and two-bedroom villas, which will sleep up to eight guests.
If you have a nature buff or American history fan in your group, this is for sure the resort for you!
