Epcot International Festival of the Arts

By Jade Monzo, Owner, Rope Drop Travel February 18, 2020

Epcot offers many phenomenal festivals throughout the year at their theme park, which is included in the price of admission! But my favorite must be the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Running January 17 -February 24, with similar dates open every year, you will find Epcot transformed into an artist’s dream!

Upon your entry into the park, the first thing you’ll want to do is pick up a “Festival Passport.” Inside you’ll find all of the food studio menus, information about Artful Exclusives and the Disney on Broadway Concert Series schedule.

You’ll have the opportunity to listen to your favorite Disney songs from award-winning Broadway shows that are performed by the Disney on Broadway stars every day of the festival. It’s certainly the best way to end your day after exploring all that this park and festival has to offer.

Art abounds throughout the park! You will find festival pop up markets where you can purchase from 100 different artists’ curated art collections. These markets showcase everything from jewelry to fine art.

Keep your eyes open to spot artists who will be bringing visual and performing arts to life throughout the park. And make sure to look down! There are Chalk Art Galleries where you can witness professional chalk artists at work and you’ll even have the opportunity to create your own chalk art masterpiece at Kids’ Chalk Art.

Let your artistic abilities soar at many different spots to showcase what you got! The Expression Section will allow all to grab a paintbrush and help create a larger than life mural. Spin Art allows you to bicycle your way to a masterpiece! You can even help Figment learn about art on Figment’s Brush With The Masters Scavenger Hunt. To get started with this, you’ll purchase a map and stickers at $7.99. When you have experienced every activity on the map and marked it with the coordinating sticker - turn it in for your commemorative trading pin!

Make sure to stop at the many artistic life-size renderings of your favorite paintings. A Memory Maker photographer will be ready waiting to snap your picture as you become part of the art. Such a fun experience and memory!

Above all the many fantastic activities for you to take part in, my absolute favorite would be all of the many cuisine opportunities for you to enjoy. You’ll find every country in World Showcase has its own specialty pop up food booth where you can indulge in different appetizer-sized savory and sweet dishes, all themed to their relevant country. Many have been transformed into works of art! My personal favorite was the Artist’s Palette, a large chocolate chip cookie shaped like a palette with different colored icings as paint, all served with a paintbrush. Your little ones will be in love. You can even participate in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine where if you track your purchase of five select items in your Festival Passport you will receive a complimentary treat when you turn in your five receipts at the end!

For more information on all of the wonderful things to do on your next trip to Epcot, make sure you check out this article where you will find Epcot rides broken down for any age group in your party.

As Disney says, enjoy this Artful Epcot!
