Hands down the best character dining experience you will find in Walt Disney World right now, Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera does not disappoint, even currently modified!
If you want to see your favorite characters in their unique costumes, plan on heading to this rooftop restaurant for a delicious prix-fixe menu. Breakfast begins with fresh pastries and bread. These fresh pastries are served in an adorable painters’ can with a paintbrush shaped knife to spread on the delicious, flavored butter, jam or hazelnut chocolate. If you are a pastry fan, this is easily one of the most delicious things they serve in all of Walt Disney World!
Your entrées choices include Quiche Gruyère with house-made pancetta, Sour Cream Waffle, Smoked Salmon, Two Eggs Any Style, and more. I’m a more basic girl who always orders the scrambled eggs, hearty sausage and potatoes. All were impeccably seasoned and scrumptious. There is also a wide selection of coffees, alcoholic beverages and fun kids’ drinks to choose fun. Topolino’s Terrace does serve the coveted "POG Juice", which is so popular in Walt Disney World, and normally served at other restaurants such as The Garden Grille in Epcot and O’hana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Villas, which is currently closed. Best part about this restaurant is that they serve your “POG” or “Passion, Orange, Guava” juice in a large glass!
While you enjoy your meal Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck all make the rounds, stopping for a picture from afar, maintaining that six feet of physical distancing. It can be fun to snap that selfie or picture of your little ones with the characters standing behind them. In my opinion, this type of modification almost makes this character breakfast even more enjoyable as there are no autograph books to struggle with or children climbing out of their seats constantly as the characters make the rounds. After their individual walk through the restaurant, the characters are back and children and parents alike will have a chance to clap their hands and dance in their seats as the characters make a round all together dancing and vibing to the music.
One of my personal favorite parts of this character interaction are their adorable costumes. Mickey and the gang are dressed as if they are in the midst of their latest artistic creation; check out Donald in his smock!
At the end of your meal, all guests are given a postcard with pictures of the characters you were able to “meet” during your meal and their autographs. It makes a great souvenir! You will then be invited to step out onto the terrace which gives some of the most amazing panoramic views in all of Walt Disney World. You’ll be able to get a bird’s eye view of some famous attractions as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and The Beautiful Land of Galaxy’s Edge. Make sure to have your camera handy to snap a picture of your family!
